Trolley Spotting

As you go about your day to day life, do you ever notice shopping trolleys peeping out from behind a parked car, bottom up in a canal or at the edge of the pavement as if waiting to cross the road? Well, I have been observing these for some time now and have gathered them together in my new project Trolley Spotting. As part of the exhibition Day-to-Day Data at Angel Row Gallery in Nottingham and Aspex Gallery in Portsmouth, I have created a virtual Trolley Spotting walk around the city. When you visit the website, you can wander around the two cities and see what I have found.

In addition to the web based project, I tagged all of the trolleys at Marks and Spencer in Nottingham city centre and at Asda in Portsmouth. I have also produced a printed map, so people can go on a little walking tour and do some Trolley Spotting of their own.

The exhibition will be touring to Danielle Arnaud Gallery in London in March, so check back nearer the time for details.
