place-non-place at Angel Row Gallery
I have a new exhibition opening at Angel Row Gallery in Nottingham. The piece has been created specifically for the foyer space of Angel Row Gallery as part of Window 05. The work uses animation to examine the similarities between the small movements and gestures of two different groups of people: those passing time at the bus stop outside the gallery and those spending time viewing the exhibitions inside. The exhibition is running from 21 September - 19 November and can be viewed perfectly from the bus stop outside the window.

New Mural at Harper Green!
I have been very busy in the past couple of weeks, creating a mural at Harper Green School in Farnworth, near Bolton. I was commissioned to make a mural over two floors which link different parts of the school and, following a workshop with some of the pupils last term, I made a series of line drawings, which I have transferred onto the surface of the walls. One corridor features images of the pupils, and I have played around with scale, producing large scale objects such as paint tubes and pencils. In the other corridor, which has been painted bright pink, I have worked with images of musical instruments and large figures. This work was very demanding, both in terms of concentration and on a physical level...so much more lively than sitting at my computer! You can find out more about the school here , and don't forget to have a listen to the school's own radio station, OPF Radio.
