Hayvend

Cornerhouse, Manchester (& other national locations), 2000

Hayvend is an artist-run project commissioning multiples to be distributed through adapted vending machines in gallery spaces throughout Europe. During 2000 I was selected as part of a joint commission by Hayvend and Cornerhouse to create a series of 100 multiples. The items are placed in boxes before being put into the vending machines, so I decided to look at the box itself. I created my own slightly smaller box and made instructions to go on the front, showing how to open it. Inside this I placed another slightly smaller box, again with instructions, this time showing how to open it and place something inside.
